Czech Republic: Kulichova Happy With Brno Decision

03.05.2005

Promising center Petra Kulichova has explained her decision to join Gambrinus Brno for the upcoming season.

Kulichova, 20, produced some outstanding displays in the FIBA EuroLeague Women this season for Loko Trutnov, alerting several top teams in Europe.

However she is happy to stay in the Czech Republic, where she hopes she will be able to enjoy another successful season next term.

"We have had a very good season. It was always my dream to play in the Euroleague and this dream came true this season," she told www.basket.idnes.cz.

"I had some good offers to go to France, Italy and Spain but I decided to stay in the Czech Republic.

"Gambrinus Brno is one of the best teams in Europe and I hope that my decision was correct.

"I think that I have enough time to play abroad. I am young and I am not ready for that right now.

Gambrinus manager Jiri Hamza added: "We are very happy to have Kulichova in our team. She is a good rebounder - very important for every team."
