Lietuvos telekomas take on Gambrinus JME Brno in Wednesday’s EuroLeague Women game between the top two sides in Group A in Vilnius.
Both teams know each other fairly well, and it is not the first time they have competed in the same group in the competition. Although they are having their best ever season in European competition, the Lithuanians have yet to beat Brno.
In the first contest in December, Brno cruised to a convincing 80-56 victory, bringing an abrupt halt to Lietuvos telekomas' 4-game winning streak. Brno are currently on a 7-game winning run of their own, a run that Lietuvos telekomas will be hoping to put an end to.

The Lithuanian champions will have their work cut out, especially under the basket where Brno's Taj McWilliams has established herself as one of the top players in the EuroLeague.
McWilliams, who is leading Brno in scoring (16.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.4 rpg), had 18 points and 18 boards against Lietuvos telekomas in December. Slovak guard Zuzana Zirkova added 15 points on 6/10 shooting.
Lietuvos telekomas will be hoping for bigger contributions from Katie Douglas and captain Rima Valentiene. Douglas, who leads the EuroLeague in scoring (23.3 ppg) had just 11 against Brno, while Valentiene made only 1/4 three-pointers.
Not only do Lietuvos telekomas have to win if they are to achieve their goal of finishing in top place in the group, they must defeat Brno by at least 25 points to finish above the Czech side in any head-to-head situation.
