The game's high stakes were evident throughout the 40 minutes and both teams began nervously. The scoreline fluctuated constantly, as Brno and Lietuvos tried and failed to build a lead, and after 10 minutes it was all square, 18-18.
The second quarter was no better. Both sides struggled on the offensive end and combined for just 15 points, with Lietuvos telekomas scoring just 5.
It was in the third that the home side began to pull away. They outscored Brno 12-3 in the final 6 minutes of the period and took a 46-39 lead into the final quarter.
Brno fought back and a Taj McWilliams jump shot at the 4:42 minute mark saw them go back in front, 48-49. But Rima Valentiene hit a three-pointer which saw Lietuvos regain the advantage.
Valentiene struggled on the night, hitting just 1 of her 3 three-point attempts. But the one she nailed was a huge lift to her team and the 2,500 home fans.
Katie Douglas hit 3/4 free throws in the final 15 seconds and Lietuvos held on for the win.
