Spanish side Ros Casares Valencia began their 2005 EuroLeague Women campaign with a convincing victory over Slovak champions Delta Kosice.
An opening three-pointer from Spanish international Amaya Valdemoro set the tone for a 41-point rout as Valencia racked up the 5th highest points total in this season's EuroLeague Women.

| It was clear from the outset that Valencia were the better side and they were able to score from virtually anywhere in the court in the opening quarter. Their dominance was reflected in the scoreline and they led by 15 points after 10 minutes.
Coach Israel Sanchis' decision to go to his bench didn't effect the scoreline as Kosice suffered a nightmare shooting evening. They missed all 8 of their 3-point attempts in the first half and finished the game 1/15. Valencia, on the other hand, nailed 4/6 in the opening half and 6/12 for the game. By halftime the lead had stretched to 25 points.
By midway through the third quarter, the score was 37-71 in favour of the Spanish visitors and the game was over.
Suzy Batkovic and Amaya Valdemoro finished with 20 points apiece for Valencia, while Chamique Holdsclaw added 18. |
