Spain: Casares Chief - Holdsclaw Is Staying

The president of Spanish treble-winners Ros Casares has dismissed speculation that his team

are about to lose the services of star player Chamique Holdsclaw.

Francisco Ros Garcia insists they are keen to keep the forward in Valencia, and also claims the three-time WNBA all-star would like to stay at Ros Casares, who will face FIBA EuroLeague champions Valenciennes in a best of three match-up, starting on February 22.

"Chamique wants to stay and win the EuroLeague with us and she has told me that personally," said Ros Garcia.

"The only problem has been that she has been a bit down recently because the treatment she has been having for injury problems has not improved her as much as she was hoping.

"I hope she is going to become a reference for the squad because she is one of the most classy players on the planet."
