Wisla Win Again
// 04 November 2009
Wisla Can-Pack Krakow pleased the home crowd as it came away with a hard fought 85-78 win over MiZo Pecs 2010 on Wednesday to remain perfect in the EuroLeague Women.

The Polish side, who stunned Halcon Avenida in Spain a week ago in their Group C opener, pulled away late in the fourth quarter.

With MiZo up 67-66, Iziane Castro Marques nailed a three-pointer with 4:41 to go in the game to hand Wisla the lead for good.

Castro Marques had a game-high 22 points but received plenty of support from Janell Burse and Ewelina Kobryn.

Burse poured in 18 points to go with 15 rebounds, while Polish center Kobryn added 15 and 10 rebounds, including seven off the offensive glass.

Nicole Ohlde led MiZo with 17 points while teammate Dalma Ivanyi contributed with 16 but was held scoreless over the final 7:32 as Wisla seized control, finally putting the game away when Spain forward Marta Fernandez hit a huge three-ball with just a minute to go, pushing the lead to nine.

MiZo can only hope to learn from two tough early-season losses as it returns home to face Halcon Avenida next week.

Wisla will look to build even more momentum heading into a matchup with ESB Lille Metropole in France next Wednesday.
