Champions Cyprus In A Class Of Their Own
Cyprus waltzed to gold in the U16 European Championship for Men Division C in Andorra with an easy 74-30 win over Scotland in the final.
The Cypriots have been the class of the field throughout the tournament and demonstrated it one more time in another lopsided victory.
They led 28-7 at the end of the first quarter and there was never any way back for the Scots. Giorgos Stylianou scored 20 points to lead four Cypriots with double figures.
Hosts Andorra took third place with an 86-54 victory over San Marino. Like Cyprus, they used a hot start to build an almost unsurmountable lead - going 30-7 ahead - and then had it in cruise control the rest of the way.
Pau Auge Gracia stood out with 14 points.
Fifth place went to Wales as Jacob Lloyd turned into a one-man wrecking crew to lead them to a 53-37 victory over Malta. Lloyd finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in an outstanding solo performance.
