Serbia & Montenegro won the battle for third place after defeating Croatia 85-69.
It was anyone's game heading into the last period, with Serbia & Montenegro holding only a slight advantage at 57-54.
But the Serbo-Montenegrins blitzed their opponents over the final 10 minutes to secure in the end what proved to be a comfortable winning margin.
Point guard Nedeljko Bogdanovic paced the victors with 15 points, while Dejan Musli (13 points and 10 rebounds) and Bojan Subotic (12 points and 10 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles for the victors.
Croatia's leading light was Mario Delas, who scored a game-high 17 points and hauled down seven rebounds before fouling out in the final period.
