Lithuania held off hosts Ukraine to take ninth place at the U16 European Championship.
Martynas Varnas led the way with 22 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists as Lithuania took control of the game in the second quarter and then held it together in the face of a Ukrainian rally after the interval.
The teams had been locked together at 15-15 at the end of the first quarter but Lithuania scored the first seven points after the restart and then led 38-27 after a big three-pointer from Lukas Kvedaravicius with two minutes left in the first half.
Vitaliy Zotov hit a three to end the second half and cut Ukraine's deficit to 11, 42-31 and they came out fighting in the third period as Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk put the team on his back.
When he made two free throws with 29 seconds left in the period they were within three, but Laurynas Beliauskas ended the period with a jump-shot that made it 58-53.
Lithuania turned to three-pointers in the fourth period to edge clear again as Kvedaravicius and Varnas both came up with big shots, Varnas making it 73-64 with a long ball with four minutes to go.
Matas Andruskevicius joined the party to give them a 79-66 edge with 82 seconds left, and Ukraine's challenge was over.
Kvedaravicius had 15 points and six rebounds for Lithuania.
Mykhailiuk turned in another fine solo performance with 28 points and 11 rebounds for Ukraine, while Anton Musiyenko had 11 points.
