Germany Rock Belgium On Opening Day

Germany got off to a great start at the U16 European Championship Men Division B in Sarajevo with an 84-50 win over Belgium.

Philipp Neumann had 14 points to pace the Germans in the Group A clash.

Rannar Raap poured in 18 for Estonia in their 82-60 win over Slovakia and Vitali Liutych and Henadziy Zakhar each had 16 as Belarus thrashed Luxembourg 91-58 in the other games in the group on opening day.

In Group B, Mladen Novakovic poured in 19 points as Montenegro rolled to a 103-57 triumph over Denmark.

Hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina got 21 from Dino Begagic and cruised to a 93-57 victory over Iceland while Austria scraped a 66-64 win over the Netherlands.

Bulgaria are off and  running in Group C after a 94-39 success over Cyprus.

Slovenia beat England 87-46 and Switzerland rolled to a 105-61 win over Romania.

Sweden defeated Portugal 79-72 and Finland prevailed 79-56 over Ireland in Group D.
