Serbia finished the Termosteps U16 European Championship Men with a sweet taste after a 60-56 win over Spain.
The squad from Belgrade takes the fifth spot in the competition, while Spain is 6th.
Strahinja Mladenovic was the top scorer of Serbia with 19 and Drenovac added 17 with ten rebounds including the key shot in the last seconds.
Miguel Servera led Spain with 14 points and eight rebounds while Albert Ventura added 13 after scoring nine in the last nine minutes that almost gave his team the win.
Serbia wrote a 13-0 run in the first half to take the lead, and never allowed Spain to be on top again.
Ventura tied the game in the closing minutes, but Spain, after hitting just one shot from long range in 14 attempts tried to win the game from the same range down by two in the last seconds, and missed.
Spain enjoyed the better start and after Pedro Farina hit a jumper held a 15-10 lead.
Serbia scored the next six points, to finish the first quarter up by a point, and continued their run early in the second to complete 13 points in a row scored by five different players.
Spain answered with a six point run, but Mladenovic with ten first half points kept Serbia on top at the break 29-26.
The Serbian guard stayed hot in the second half, but saw Miguel Servera make the difference and tie the game at 32-32.
Drenovac connected four points in a row to make it a seven point game entering the last quarter, 42-35, but Spain had one more card.
Ventura scored six points in a row, to bring his team just five points behind.
Spain continued to hope for their second three pointer of the day, after 13 shots, but stayed in the race.
Once again it was Ventura, this time with a tip in followed by an assists to Farina, who made it 51-47 for the Serbs with less than three minutes to play, but he wasn't done yet.
With 81 seconds on the clock he connected a three point play to tie the game at 54-54.
Stefan Nastic and Farina exchanged points before the lefty Drenovac slashed to the rim and finished well with a lay up.
Joan Tomas tried to win the game behind the arc from the corner, but the ball went out and Mladenovic secured it from the line.
