Ricard Rubio came within two assists of a triple-double as Spain defeated Serbia & Montenegro 95-79 in quarter-final round play at the Termosteps U-16 European Championship in Spain.
Rubio finished with 22 points, 20 rebounds, eight assists and six steals.

Rubio's all-around play and Spain’s huge spurt over the final 12 minutes of the game keyed the win.
Trailing by 10 with 1:35 to go in the third quarter, Spain reeled off 10 consecutive points to go into the fourth quarter tied at 61.
The Spanish didn’t stop there as they opened the fourth quarter by scoring five straight on a tap-in and free-throw from David Guardia and a lay-up from Ton Jaume Vicens.
That extended the run to 15-0 spanning a stretch just over two minutes.
Spain led by five at that point and would increase their lead to double-digits following a 12-3 run midway through the fourth.
Vicens had a game-high 27 points for the Spanish, while Filip Sepa top scored with 17 for the losing side.
