The Slovenian Basketball Federation (KZS) has announced Damjan Novakovic as the new head coach for the men's U20 team.

Novakovic, a former professional basketball player, is currently at the helm of Slovenian club Tajfun Sentjur.

He succeeds Zmagoslav Sagadin, who had led hosts Slovenia to a seventh-place finish at last year's U20 European Championship.

The U20 European Championship will take place in Estonia from 9-21 July.

Slovenia were drawn into Group D with the Czech Republic, France, Italy and Estonia.

KZS has also confirmed that Saso Rebernik will continue at the helm of the U18 women's national team.

The 30-year-old play caller is a familiar face within the Slovenian basketball family.

He made his first appearance as an assistant coach at the U16 European Championship Women Division B in 2007, before joining the coaching staff of the U18 women's team in 2010.

The upcoming U18 European Championship Women in Croatia will be his third tournament as head coach.

Slovenia will face France, Italy and the Czech Republic in Group D.

The U18 European Championship Women is scheduled from 15-25 August.
