Career: Broceni Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1997-99), Buki Gulbene (Latvia-LBL, 1999-2000), Telit Trieste (Italy-Lega, 2000-01), Olimpija Ljublajna (Slovenia-1A, 2001-02), Skonto Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2002), Skonto Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2002-03), Azoty Tarnow (Poland-PLK, 2003), Huelva (Spain-LEB, 2003-04), CSF Sevilla (Spain-Liga ACB, 2004-05).
Back in 2000, Kaspars Cipruss was considered as maybe the best center in his age class. He was coming off an impressive performance at the junior European championship, averaging 15.6 points and 9.5 rebounds per game... He was signed right away by Trieste in the Italian League but since then, he has bounced from one team to another failing to fulfill his potential... Olimpija Ljubljana offered him a contract in 2001 but he was quickly cut and came back for a short stint in Latvia. The same happened one year later... In 2003 CSF Sevilla loaned him to Huelva in the second division where he regained some confidence and playing time... Not enough apparently as he played a minor role in the ACB this year (2.1 pts, 2.3 rbds). Too bad for a center with a strong body and a good feel for rebounding. |
