Pascal Roller

Career: Freiburg (Germany- Div. 2, 1996-97, Bundesliga, 1997-99), Frankfurt Opel Skyliners (Germany – Bundesliga, 1999-...)

Pascal Roller was not supposed to participate in EuroBasket 2005. Dirk Bauermann picked Steffen Hamann as his starting point guard, but he tore his ACL in August and Roller was drafted in as his replacement. The German coach chose to trust the 2005 Bundesliga Player of the Year. Roller took his team to the finals against Bamberg and had a wonderful individual season (14.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 43.3% three-point shooting). In the Euroleague, he was also solid. He lacks athletic ability and size for the top level but his intelligence, his knowledge of the point guard position and his court vision make him a great playmaker. Roller is always a threat from behind the three-point line.
