Italy crushed Ukraine 99-60 and remained the only unbeatable team in Group E.
The Italian side has collected already four wins and holds a great chance to play the semi-finals of this tournament. Ukraine dropped to 1-3 and will try to recover tomorrow after the huge defeat.
Five players on Italy scored between 11 and 13 points led by Marco Giuri, and followed by Roberto Rullo, Marco Ammannato and Giancarlo Ferrero with 12 and Giacomo Eliantonio with 11.
Vadym Norenko led Ukraine with 13, Oleksandr Sizov added 11 and Sergiy Gladyr had 10.
The first quarter didn't tell what is about to arrive as Sizov combined eight points for Ukraine who held a 20-19 lead after ten minutes.
Another 90 seconds inside the second the game was still tied at 25 a piece but then came a 17-0 run by Italy that made things a little bit different, on the way to an 18 point half time gap, 52-34.
Italy continued their run in the second half, pushing the break higher difference barriers. The gap already reached 45 before Ukraine managed to cut some of it until the final buzzer.
Italy will take on Lithuania tomorrow and could still qualify even if they lose by up to three points. Ukraine will look for their first win in the Qualifying Round against Israel.
