Ntousan Sakota sank a dramatic three-pointer with just four seconds remaining to hand Greece victory over Bulgaria and send them through to the next phase of the OSTCHEM U20 European Championship on Sunday.
The teams had traded blows throughout an enthralling contest but it seemed as though the Bulgarians were going to sneak it as the game drew to a close. Sakota then connected from downtown with time almost up to hand the Greeks a 78-77 triumph.
It was a fitting ending for the Belgrade-born star, the tournament`s leading scorer with 23.3 points per game, as he was one of the outstanding performers on the court.
He and Igor Milosevic each had 26 points for Greece - their only two players to reach double figures.
Defeat was harsh on Bulgaria's Stanislav Slaveykov, who led his side with 28 points.
Greece's victory and Lithuania's defeat of Spain eliminated Bulgaria from contention.
