Gunta Basko

Career: RTU/Klondaika Riga (Latvia-LSBL, 1995-98), Siena (USA-NCAA, 1999-2003), Ramat Hasharon (Israel-D1, 2003-04), Tarbes Gespe Basket (France-LFB, 2004-06), Lattes-Maurin Montpellier (France-LFB, 2006-08), Halcon Avenida (Spain-LFB, 2008-09).

Gunta Basko is a natural born leader and a smart player who loves to be into the heat of the fight. Since EuroBasket Women 1999, she is a very important player for the Latvian team, being even more than brilliant in 2005 and 2007. Quick and aggressive, with good shooting skills, Gunta can play from point guard to power forward and usually produces good statistics in all different categories. Basko is getting better and better each year. After four remarkable seasons in France she went to Spain and became an important part of Halcon Avenida. Basko averaged 9.5 points and 3.1 assist per game in the EuroLeague Women for her club and was one of the main reasons why Halcon Avenida qualified for the Finals both in the EuroLeague and the Liga Femina.
