Liron Cohen made a very good floor general for surprise package Wisla Can-Pack Krakow this season.

Beretta-Famila Schio are hoping she'll do the same in Italy after signing with Sandro Orlando's side for next season.

Schio had on May 24 signed Italy's best player and the club's Coppa Italia MVP, Laura Macchi, to a three-year extension and now they have the much-travelled Cohen.

"After confirming Macchi, I think our team is enriched with one of the best point guards in Europe," Schio general manager Paolo De Angelis said.

"Along with coach Orlando, we have identified in Cohen the elements that best meet the technical requirements of our game tactics.

"Add to that the great willingness on the part of the girl, who was immediately interested in our project and has responded positively to us.

"I also want to point out that competition from other European clubs was strong."

An Israel international who competed at the last two EuroBaskets for Women, Cohen has also played for clubs in Spain, Greece and Slovakia.

Cohen, 27, averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in the EuroLeague this season but did rank ninth in the competition in turnovers at 3.2 per contest.

She had a season-high seven miscues in Wisla's heavy Final Four defeat to Ros Casares.

Schio know what they're getting with Cohen as they faced Wisla in the Qualifying Round of the EuroLeague Women this season.

In the 83-72 Wisla triumph in November, Cohen had 17 points, five assists and five rebounds.

She had five points, five assists, six rebounds and four turnovers in Wisla's 92-88 defeat at Schio on January 14.
