| Tatiana Schegoleva
| Career: CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1997-98), Spartak Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1998-2001), BK Look Dukes Klosterneuburg (Austria-AWBL AH1, 2001-02), USO Mondeville (France-LFB, 2002-03), CSKA Samara (Russia-Superleague, 2003-05), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2005-07), Spartak Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 2007-09).
Last summer Tatiana Shchegoleva became the real leader of the Russian national team during the Olympic Games in Beijing. Her statistics speak for themselves: 12.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Even if the team failed to get the gold medal, it was clearly a good campaign for her. Her successful period continued during the following season, when she won the EuroLeague Women title this year with Spartak Moscow Region, averaging 6.5 points, 3.0 rebounds per game with relatively little playing time. It was her second EuroLeague Women title in a row as she won it in 2008 too with the same team. Little by little Shchegoleva has become the key player of the national team. Her atypical game has seduced Russia's coach, as she is an incredibly quick player for her size. However her slim body can become a weakness while fighting for position in the paint. | | |
