Career: Spartak Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1999-2000), Spartak Moscow Region (Russia-Superleague, 2000-09).

When Igor Grudin was the head coach of the Russian national team, Marina Karpunina always was a member of the selection, with her playing time increasing throughout the years. Last summer she had her best international campaign during the Olympics, averaging 4.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. Nevertheless she has always been faithful to the same club: Spartak Moscow Region. With that team she won the last three EuroLeague Women titles, averaging 5.1 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this season.
