Quarter-finals Set

20 January 2006

Anda Ramat Hasharon’s Deanna Nolan scored 23 points, dished out 12 assists and had four steals to lead her club to an 89-75 win last night over Lavezzini Parma and clinch a place in the EuroCup Women quarter-finals.

Nolan, a guard, hit 11 of 17 from the field. Her three-pointer in the first quarter started an 13-2 run and Anda Ramat Hasharon would never look back.

"I can't even begin to talk about Deanna, she never ceases to amaze me,” said Anda Ramat Hasharon head coach Orna Ostfeld.

“She contributes so much to the team and it looks like she could do much more. She is such a team player.”

Anda Ramat Hasharon won the first game 86-61 and had a 175-136 advantage in the games.

In the Israeli club’s first victory, Donnette Snow was the leading scorer for the victors, tallying 22 points to go along with 14 rebounds.

Anda Ramat Hasharon will take on Spartak Moscow in the quarter-finals on February 2nd.

Newly acquired Lisa Leslie scored 25 and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Spartak to a 78-62 win over Fenerbahce SK Istanbul in the EuroCup Women Eighth Finals on Thursday.

The 16-point margin of victory allowed Spartak to advance to the quarter-finals by winning the games by an accumulative score of 144-136. In the team’s first match-up, Fenerbahce won 74-66.

Leslie, the WNBA star and winner of three Olympic gold medals with the United States team, signed with the Russian team last week.

In her first game against Fenerbahce, Leslie scored seven points in 34 minutes.

Fenerbahce’s Nicole Kristen Powell put on an amazing performance in her team’s game one victory last week with 39 points and 14 rebounds.
