At just 22, Martinez has plenty of experience playing at the top level of women’s basketball. Born into a sporting family (her mother played in the Spanish first division and her father was a handball goalkeeper at FC Barcelona), she’s been playing against much older players her entire life. The Mataro native made her debut in at Barcelona just months after having won a gold medal at the 1999 European Cadette Championship, but soon decided to move to Salamanca in order to gain more game experience. Núria is a tough defender in one-on-one situations, where her quick feet. She is a good shooter and can play some minutes as a shooting guard though she prefers to be distributing the ball to her teammates.
