Laine Selwyn

Career: Pittsburgh (USA-NCAA Div. 1, 1999-2003), Hapoel Haifa/Motzkin (Israel-D1, 2003-04), Anda Ramat Hasharon (Israel-D1, 2004-05), Besiktas Istanbul (Turkey-D1, 2005-06), Elitzur Ramla (Israel-D1, 2006-08), Dynamo Moscow (Russia-A Superleague, 2008), Electra Ramat Hasharon (Israel-D1, 2008-09).

The starting point guard of the Israeli team is impossible to miss on the court. She's earned the nickname "Energizer", and that perfectly characterize her game. Selwyn brings a little of everything but her value isn't measured in numbers. She's the heart and the soul of every team she's on, and delivers her fighting spirit day in and day out. A headache to most players with a ball in their hand thanks to her never-ending effort on defense. A scouting report that will relate only to her skills will miss the point, as most teams did after she finished four years at Pittsburgh. Selwyn wasn't highly courted but slowly built her way up and has played for big clubs such as Besiktas and Dynamo Moscow.
