Petra Kulichova is one of the most experinced and impotant players in the team, having played at major tournaments for her country for seven years after initially making her debut at the 2004 Olympics. A year later and at the age of just 20 she was clutching a EuroBasket Women gold medal. Meanwhile last year, she underlined just how good she is defensively by finishing a wonderful FIBA World Championship Women as the best shot blocker in the tournament by some distance. The center also matches-up really well with most opponents and is a formidable figure in the middle of the paint. She is also tenacious on the glass and finished with the most rebounds on the team at EuroBasket Women 2007. Anything this left-handed player lacks in terms of her ability to finish as consistently as other centers at the offensive end is made up by her sparkling work on defence. She remains a tower of strength for both the National Team and for USK Prague.
