MBK Ruzomberok continued their winning streak on the road after 28 points from center Nadia Parker helped overturn a first-leg deficit and take a famous 79-57 win at Nantes Reze to reach the EuroCup Women semi-finals.
The Slovakian club are the first team to reach the last four of this years' competition and it was particularly satisfying for Stefan Svitek and his players, having lost 56-51 on home soil in the first leg and at one juncture, finding themselves 14 points behind in the context of the tie during first quarter action in France.
Nantes have now been added to an impressive list of scalps taken by Ruzomberok on their travels this season, with prior victims including Vilnius Kibirkstis, Antakya and Dynamo GUVD.
Trailing 16-7 during the initial exchanges, a slow start was the last thing the visitors wanted, but they would eventually find their rhythm and never look back.
They came alive and after firstly levelling matters at 24, they sparked a game-winning 27-12 run either side of half-time, to leave Nantes stunned and unable to recover.
In fact, things just went from bad to worse for the crestfallen hosts, who having been outscored 20-8 in the third quarter, couldn't prevent Ruzomberok wrapping up the win early after erasing any lingering doubts with six of the first eight points during the last quarter to make it 67-44.
Parker was supported by cameos from the quartet of Katarina Tetemondova, Veronika Cernakova, Dominika Baburova and Eva Kmetova. They all enjoyed memorable shooting nights with a combined 13-of-15 from the field.
Marielle Amant had a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds for Nantes who missed out on the opportunity to make history having never made the semi-finals of a European competition.
