Unless she has a dramatic change of heart, this is the last time we will get to see Lawson on a basketball court after announcing she will retire this summer. A productive tournament, perhaps culminating in a medal, would certainly be a fitting finale to a marvellous player and a sparkling career. The guard has played at the elite level for a decade, winning plenty of silverware along the way for club and country, impressing in a bunch of top European leagues, as well as the WNBA. Since returning to France a couple of seasons ago, she's picked up awards and personal accolades. The LFB Player of the Year in 2012 and now and an LFB regular season champion with BLMA, her vast experience and extensive skill-set will be vital for France as she bids to post a memorable swansong.
