One fact about this year's EuroCup Women is that in at least two countries, club sides are finding continental basketball much more to their liking than the domestic scene.

Nantes Rezé and Arras are each 4-3 in the French top flight while ESB Lille Metropole are 2-6.

Yet in the EuroCup after Wednesday's games, the three sides have a combined record of 14-2 and each finished first in their respective groups, which will mean a more favorable draw for the sides in the next round.

Nantes are 5-1, Arras 3-1 and ESB 6-0.

Four of the five Russian teams have also thrived so far, winning 11 of a possible 12 games.

They are Dynamo Moscow (4-0), Dynamo Kursk (2-0), BC Chevakata (3-0) and Dynamo - GUVD (2-1).

The only side struggling is Spartak Noginsk, who are 1-2.

Chevakata, Dynamo - GUVD and Spartak Noginsk are in action on Thursday.

It's been a tough EuroCup Women for the teams in the neighboring country of Belgium, who have a combined 3-11 mark.

They are Lotto Young Cats (2-4), Dexia Namur Capitale (0-4) and BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver (1-3).

The experience will have nevertheless been hugely beneficial for each, especially for the Young Cats as the squad is made up of the best young talent in the country.

Additionally, BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver nearly finished 2-2 but lost their last game, 79-72, at home to Gran Canaria on Wednesday.

The EuroCup Women campaign was more brutal for the Portuguese sides Sport Algés Dafundo (0-6) and Olivais Coimbra (0-4).

All of the successful teams will be aware of the threat in Greece posed by defending champions Sony Athinaikos, and in Belarus by BC Horizont.

Both sides have players in their respective countries' national teams.

Horizont are led by Belarus national team boss Anatoli Buyalski and they have clinched first place at 4-0 in Group B.
