Monika Krawiec is averaging 20.5 points and seven rebounds per game for Energa Torun in two EuroCup Women games this season.
The 26-year-old shooting guard is also a big reason why the club is doing well in the PLKK, with Energa sixth in the standings.
Her celebrity is being put to the test.
The newspaper Gazeta Pomorska wants to know from its readers whom they believe to be the most popular athlete in the region and has named Krawiec as one of the candidates.
Fans have been told they can cast votes vita text, or coupons that appear in the newspaper on Saturdays.
Voting will take place until November 29.
Krawiec can improve her chances when she runs onto the floor in Poland on Thursday to take on Sport Algés e Dafundo.
Energa Torun thrashed the Portuguese team 92-50 in the first meeting.
When asked about his memory of that game, the coach of the Portuguese outfit, Fernando Bras, said: "When I think of the skirmish with Energa, held in Portugal, I think about our very bad day."
Energa Torun followed that rout with an 87-79 home triumph over Mann Filter Zaragoza.
