Kalentzou Boost For Athinaikos

Greece national team point guard Dimitra Kalentzou returned from a finger injury over the weekend in Sony Athinaikos' win over F.E.A. and should feature for the defending champions when they host Lupa Promotion Novi Zagreb.

Another national team point guard on the books of Athinaikos, Iouliti Lymoura, picked up an injury in their last win and isn't expected to play.

Athinaikos are off to a fast start in the Greek league with five wins in as many games.

They won the first game at Lupa Promotion Novi Zagreb on November 10, 83-51.

Mann Filter On Top

One of the aims of Mann Filter Zaragoza heading into this season was to finish top of their EuroCup Women Qualifying Round pool.

After Tuesday night's 66-63 demolition of Sport Algés e Dafundo in Portugal, it was mission accomplished.

Mann Filter leapfrogged Energa Torun into first place in Group J with the victory.

The two sides split their encounters, but Mann Filter had superior goal differential in the two meetings.

After falling in the first leg by eight points in Poland, Mann Filter beat Energa Torun in Spain 76-58 on November 25.

Now the Spanish side can turn its attention to domestic matters and a vital game against Olesa this weekend in Spain.

Mann Filter are in fourth place in the Liga Femenina.
