Nadezhda grabbed the upper hand in their EuroCup Women Quarter-Final with KV Imperial AEL on Thursday night by winning in Cyprus. Tatiana Burik led a balanced Russian attack with 20 points as Nadezhda claimed a 72-64 victory. AEL led 45-41 with just under seven minutes to go in the third quarter. A Burik three-pointer knotted the contest at 50-50 with 3:19 to go in the frame and Belarus international Katsiaryna Snytsina followed with a lay-up to put the visitors in front to stay. Burik and Anastasiya Veremeenko each made a pair of free-throws late as the Russia team padded its lead to eight points. Chamique Holdsclaw scored a game-high 25 points in defeat. She also led all players with six turnovers. |
