Butler has been a vital player on the GB team since the summer of 2007. She brings a wealth of experience having played the game at the elite level including last season when she spent several months playing EuroLeague Women for the second time in her career having played in the competition with Kosice as well. She has also played in EuroCup Women and in domestic leagues across Europe. Meanwhile at National Team level, Butler is a true leader for Great Britain. Known for her personality both on and off the floor as well as her determination to succeed, she is a great character for Maher to have in the locker room. At times, she is very much the glue that binds this team together with her numerous qualities. She provides strength in the paint and will be happy to do the hard work on the glass. While she probably needs to step up her finishing around the hoop a little, she is capable of stepping outside and draining a three-pointer from time to time. A good defender with quick hands, her all round influence will be instrumental at this first major tournament for Great Britain. |
