K.V. Imperial AEL won an enthralling encounter at Dunav Ekont Rousse in Bulgaria on Thursday to advance to to the Preliminary Round of the EuroCup Women.

| After winning the first leg in Cyprus 63-62, KV Imperial were pushed hard into the final minute before winning 70-62.
A Roksana Yordanova three-point play gave hosts Rousse a 60-59 lead with 5:13 remaining.
After a pair of Betty Lennox free throws put KV Imperial back in front with 4:33 remaining, both teams went cold.
Andrea Gardner split two at the stripe with 2:00 left to make it a 62-60 lead.
Rousse had their chances to pull level or go back in front.
Yordanova took a shot from long range but missed, yet they grabbed the offensive rebound, only for Marijana Ivovic fail to convert a lay-up.
Again they got the offensive board, but turned the ball over.
Gardner, who had 23 points in the game, scored inside for a four-point lead, only for Daniela Georgieva to reply with a lay-up to cut the deficit to two again.
Rousse fouled Gardner, though, and she made both shots at the stripe for a 66-62 lead and K.V. Imperial held on as Georgieva missed a lay-up, got the offensive rebound but was called for traveling.
Lennox finished with a game-high 24 points.
Rousse struggled at the free throw line, sinking a mere 12 of 22 (54.5%) attempts, and they were out-rebounded 39-33.
K.V. Imperial managed to win, despite turning the ball over 23 times. |
