Iryna Biryuk

Career: Tim-Scuf Kyiv (Ukraine-Higher League, 2001-02), Dynamo (Ukraine-Higher League, 2002-03), Kozachka-ZALK Zaporozhye (Ukraine-Higher League, 2003-09).

Iryna Biryuk is another veteran player on the roster, who is a classic shooting guard. Biryuk possesses an automatic jump shot, which makes her a deadly force from the perimeter. When Iryna is on the court, teams can't switch to a zone defence because they will get burned immediately when she touches the ball. She is a great fit for Gorbunova, who always has someone to kick the ball out to on the wing, converting most of Olexandra's passes into assists. Biryuk won the Ukrainian Higher League gold in 2009, finishing the season second in scoring with 17.8 points per game. Her two-point shooting percentage was the best among all the guards in the tournament - 53.4%.
