Dynamo Kursk was pretty close to handing Kozachka Zalk’s their first loss in this year’s FIBA Europe Cup but at the end the Ukrainians got their fourth straight win (72-77).
Dynamo Kursk led the whole first half, showing high scoring and tempo basketball (20-13 after first quarter; 40-32 at halftime) Center Elena Grishina scored 21 points, more than the half of her team.
But from the third quarter on things started to turn around in favour of the Ukrainian guests. Kozachka Zalk now played with the true belief in winning this ball game.
Dynamo missed several opportunities to score especially at the end of third period and in crunch time. Kursk didn’t find an answer to Ruslana Kyrychenko. The Ukranian guard was unstoppable tonight scoring 30 points.
Even though Dynamo cut the gap to five points at the beginning of the last quarter, they did not manage to get any closer and the runner up Kozachka won their road game in Russia after having won also the first match between the two teams 89-66 three weeks ago.
