Petra Stampalija

Career: Jolly Sibenik (Croatia A-1, 1998-2002), Toulouse Launaguet (France-LFB, 2002-04), SCAB 63 Clermont-Ferrand (France-LFB, 2004-06, La Spezia (Italy-A1, 2006-07)

Petra Stampalija grew up as a player in France. During her last season at Sibenik (2001-02), she played a great season, and it became obvious that she had nothing more to prove in the Croatian league. But her first call-up in the national team came after some great games displayed in France. During the four seasons she spent in France, Petra was averaging 13.5 points per game, shooting 57% and adding 7.2 rebounds. In European competition, her stats were even better, as she often received Player of the Week awards. Petra plays well with her back towards basket, but she also excels facing it. She is a big fighter with soft and precise shooting. She also can be used as a center, but lacks a few centimeters at that position.
