Ros Casares Swoop For Vesela
// 16 June 2008

Ros Casares may have just become the favorites to win the EuroLeague Women after signing Czech Republic international Jana Vesela to a two-year contract.

The 1.94m forward, a European champion with the Czechs in 2005 and a EuroLeague Women winner with Gambrinus Brno in 2006, joins a star-studded Ros Casares side that has also added Amaya Valdemoro and Regina Palusna this summer while keeping Elisa Aguilar, Laia Palau and Delisha-Milton Jones on the books.

"Despite her youth, Vesela has a great CV as she's won the European championship for clubs as well as with her national team," said Ros Casares general manager Carme Lluveras.

"She is an exterior player with great physical consistency and with a very ambitious mentality. She's a player who is versatile, has great ability on defence and on offensive rebounds."

Vesela helped Gambrinus beat Ros Casares in the quarter-finals this year during their run to the championship game where they lost at home in Brno to Spartak Moscow Region.

Ros Casares earlier this summer appointed Ismael Canto as their new coach.
