Gulsah Akkaya

Career: Fenerbahçe (Turkey-TBBL, 1994-1995), Toledo (USA-NCAA Div.1, 1995-1999), Makerianos (Greece-Div.1 1999-2000), Hapoel Mitgal (Israel-Div 1, 2000-2001), Beşiktaş (Turkey-TBBL, 2001-2003), Ceyhan Belediye (Turkey-TBBL, 2003-2004), Fenerbahçe (Turkey-TBBL, 2004-2005), Mersin Büyükşehir Belediye (Turkey-TBBL, 2005-07)

Akkaya is the third-best scorer on the team and was actually the first and the deadliest option ahead of Tunçluer and Kimyacıoğlu. But recurrent injuries have kept her away from the National Team for a while. How deadly was she? During a high school final round game that her team won 81-73, she scored an astonishing 75 points! Though she has recovered from her injuries she has yet assume her role of top scorer again, mostly because she didn’t need to, accepting her role as the team’s co-top scorer.
