Emilija Podrug

Career: Montmontaza Zagreb (Croatia-A1, 1996-2002), Penta Faenza (Italy-A1, 2002-04), USO Mondeville (France-LFB, 2005-06), Parma (Italy-A1, 2005-07)

Along with Sonja Kireta, Emilija Podrug is the player with highest references in the Croatian squad. In the last few Qualifying Rounds, she had some great games and led the Croatian national team towards a long expected EuroBasket participation. Italy is the place for Emilija Podrug to shine. She spent a couple of years in Italian Lega and she feels quite at home there as she knows well the arenas. Emilija was also a key player of Faenza in the 2003-04 EuroCup (13.5 pts, 8.5 rbs). She played a full season in the Euroleague, with Mondeville gaining valuable experience. She is now a mature player which won't throw balls away or drop passes. With her ability, she is for sure a WNBA potential. Podrug is agile and athletic, as well as quick and explosive. She is surprisingly fast in transition and is a solid free-throw shooter.
