The most reliable center on the Greece National Team, Samoroukova is also the oldest and most experienced player in the roster. Her game is great in the low post area with a variety of moves and she has the ability to score from the high post as well. Her other "forte" is rebounding. Maria was born in Kuybishev, Russia and attained Greek nationality after she got married to a Greek basketball coach.  The first domestic title she won was in Russia as a member of Dynamo St. Petersburg.  Then, with Sporting Athens, she won both the Greek Championship and the Cup. She comes into EuroBasket 2007 as the Greek League Champion with Panionios where she averaged 15.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in the A1 this season.
