"Toro" is one of the most respected big men of the Bulgarian league. After being tagged as a role player for years, he worked his way up to become a solid force in the paint (15.3 points per game last season) and a reliable rebounder. Offensively, he's more limited than the Ivanov twins and rarely ventures outside the paint. Last summer, when Kaloyan wasn't playing, he played his role to perfection. His mother, Petkana Makaveeva, is a former member of the national team who won two Olympic medals, in 1976 (bronze) and 1980 (silver).
