Career: Sakalai Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL. 1996-99). Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL. 1999-2004). Benetton Treviso (Italy-Lega. 2004-…).
In Lithuania, they call him "The Scottie Pippen of the Baltic". The comparison is accurate. Like the legendary Chicago Bulls star, Siskauskas – who practised boxing instead of basketball in his childhood - is a physical forward who can easily play, both on offense and defense, at the guard positions, on the wing and also in the paint. Unlike Pippen, he proved early that he can shoot. His excellent leaping ability and his quickness make him a surprising shot blocker and one of the best one-on-one players in Europe. The best defensive player of his national team. A severe hand fracture in October 99 jeopardised his career but he came back stronger than ever to stun European scouts in a semi-final game of the 2000 Saporta Cup against Virtus Bologna: 19 points, 5/8 three-pointers, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. |
