Ellen Nyström secured Sweden's Division A survival, scoring 23 points, 11 of which came in the crucial final quarter

Sweden has secured survival in Division A after beating Germany 71-60 in the classification game for 13th to 14th place at the U20 European Championship Women on Sunday.

Germany led 23-15 in the second quarter, but an inspired effort by Ellen Nyström sparked Sweden's 14-2 spurt to put the blue and yellows in front.

The two teams remained close, and Sweden entered the final 10 minutes up 47-46, but opened the fourth quarter with a 13-2 run to pull away.

In victory, Sweden held a 40-30 advantage in second-chance points, and made the best out of their trips to the foul line, shooting 14-of-19, while Germany only went 3-for-5.

Nyström scored 11 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter. She played all 40 minutes, shooting 8-for-12 from the floor, while also tallying 18 rebounds and seven assists in a key victory.

Ida Christensen and Elin Gustavsson added 11 apiece for Sweden, while Laura Hebecker scored 24 points for Germany who are now relegated to Division B.
