Olexandra Gorbunova

Career: USK Praha (Kozachka-Zalk Zaporozhye, (Ukraine - Higher League 2004-05), MKB Euroleasing Sopron (Hungary-A, 2005 - 2008), CSKA Moscow (Russia, A-Superleague, 2008-09).

Olexandra Gorbunova is the brightest talent to emerge from Ukrainian basketball in recent years. She stormed to stardom early, averaging a double-double during five of her eight appearances for the junior national teams at various European championships, and becoming a leader of the senior national team during her first EuroBasket Women qualification campaign in 2008-09. Gorbunova spent three years in Sopron, where she became one of the team's best players, before moving on to Russia's CSKA. She never managed to get close to the level of success she'd had in Hungary, leaving the Russian side at the end of her first season there. Gorbunova has no limitations on the court. She can penetrate, shoot from the outside, rebound and she is a tough defender.
