Spain's adventure at the Women's Under-20 European Championships in the Czech Republic has come to an end following their 66-52 defeat to Poland.
Spain's 81-77 loss to France on Tuesday meant they had to beat the Poles to have any chance of reaching the semi-finals.
Poland's power under the boards made it hard for Spain, who also paid for their poor statistics in attack.
Spain scored only seven points in the second quarter and trailed 55-32 with only 10 minutes remaining.
A brave fightback in the final quarter brought some respectability to the scoreline, but Spain were never in with a chance of getting back into the game. |
