Parau is one of the rising stars of Romanian basketball and is the only player from her country who played in the EuroLeague Women in the 2006-2007 season. As a member of Dexia Namur, she helped her side win the league championship and the Belgium Cup this season. Parau will most probably replace Ancuta Stoenescu at the point guard position in the starting line-up of the National Team at EuroBasket. The 23-year-old finished her contract with Dexia and has said she would like to spend the next year as close as possible to her fiancé Marius who is a professional hand ball player. Her agent is trying to find teams for both of them. In order to find good quality clubs in both sports, their most probable destination will be Spain or France.
