Poland Claim Ninth Spot


Magda Kaczmarska and Martyna Cebulska both scored 15 points as Poland beat the Netherlands 61-50 to claim ninth place at the U20 European Championship for Women.

In the game for 11th place, Katsiaryna Kashlei scored 24 points and Maryia Filonchyk collected 12 points and 11 rebounds to help Belarus past Italy 91-72.

Poland, who also had Cebulska grab 10 rebounds and Olivia Tomialowicz score 12 points, held the Netherlands to just six points in the third quarter for the win.

The Dutch, who were led by Maaike Klein's 17 points, came into the tournament looking only to stay in Division A and finished 10th.

Belarus also received 15 points from Aliaksandra Zubrytskaya and Aliaksandra Mustava scored 10 points.

Italy took 12th place with Elena Bestagno scoring 17 points and Giulia Rulli had 10 points.
