Semi-Finals Set In Poznan

Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Sweden all won their quarter-finals at U20 European Championship in Poland on Friday.

Hungary jumped out to a 25-12 lead by the end of the first quarter and ultimately prevailed 61-52 over the Netherlands with Zsofia Varga scoring 20 points and pulling down five rebounds.

Hosts Poland had to battle but triumphed 59-53 over Romania as Agnieszka Skobel scored 17 points.

The game was knotted at 25-25 at half-time and Poland outscored Romania 17-8 over the next 10 minutes to move in front.

Romania managed to go on top at 52-51 on a three-pointer from Ramona Tarta, but Skobel replied with a three-ball and the Poles stayed in front the rest of the way.

The Slovak Republic were 83-54 winners over Israel, Katarina Pindrochova's 18 points leading the way.

And Sweden rolled to another victory, this time thrashing Ireland 81-47.

Frida Eldebrink scored 18 points to pace the Swedes.

In the semi-finals, Sweden face Hungary and the Slovakians square off against Poland.
