Lithuania Too Much For Portugal, Montenegro Beat Great Britain

Hosts Lithuania will face Montenegro in the final of the U20 European Championship Division B.

The local women proved far too good against Portugal in a semi-final which they won 78-58.

Saruna Jasiunskaite pulled down a massive 21 boards for Lithuania as well as adding 12 points.

Aurime Rinkeviciute contributed 19 points, her namesake Laima 18 while Greta Luksyte poured in 10.

Montenegro beat Great Britain 69-61 in the other semi-final.

The scoreline slightly flattered the British who took the fourth quarter to trim the victory margin of the fledgling Balkan nation.

Helen Naylor of Britain took game high honours with 18 points but the undisputed star was Jelena Dubljevic who added 13 boards to her 17-point haul for Montenegro.

In classification games, Joanna Zalesiak poured in 39 points for Poland in their 82-69 defeat of the Netherlands.

The victory was largely built on a third-quarter which the Poles took 24-14.

Elisabeth Egnell of Sweden grabbed 18 points and nine rebounds as the Scandinavians spanked Romania 72-50.

Gabriela Marginean managed 16 points and 11 rebounds for Romania who were humiliated 18-2 in the third quarter.
