Benedetta Bagnara

Career: Bologna (Italy-A2, 2002-03), Reggio Emilia (Italy-A1/A2, 2003-06), La Spezia (Italy-A1, 2006-07)

Bagnara is another new name on the Italian squad. The Bologna native has been playing for the National Team at the youth level since 2003. In the summer of 2005 she played at the U20 and U18 European Championships and finished among  the best scorers in both tournaments averaging 18 points per game. An excellent shooter and offensive player, she can be a lethal weapon against a zone defense. Coach Lambruschi strongly believes in the skills of the 1.78 meter Bagnara and many basketball insiders believe that the Bologna native is the future covergirl of Italian women's basketball.
